We want to understand mathematical objects ( numbers, shapes, logic, reasoning etc.).

In order to understand and describe non-mathematical objects ( Newton law, markets, chemical reactions etc.) .

We want to develop abstract thinking ( implications, 4th dimension, rules, etc.) .

In order to develop analytical ( critical) thinking.

We want to be able to distinguish TRUE and FALSE.

In order to know how much we do not know and how much we do not understand.

You do math because you "have to" ( for example to get credit or high paying job).

I do not see that math has anything with humanity, honesty, dignity or bravery ( unfortunoutly I see usually opposite).
